“for the things which we have to learn before we can do, we learn by doing” (Aristotle 349 BC).
As a university educator I see it as my finest duty to help prepare the minds of our students for the societal challenges of tomorrow. This is not always done by doing what we have been doing for centuries and decades, but by being open to educational research and challenge our own ideas and practices. As an educator one of the most important questions to raise is why do we teach the way we do?
